There are a lot of QR code generators out there, and on the surface they look the same — paste a link, download a code. The differences only show up later: when you want to edit a printed code, when a "free" code stops working, or when you need more than a plain link. Here's an honest look at how QRYZEN compares to the typical generator, and where we draw our lines.
The one that matters most: do your codes survive?
This is the difference that bites people. Many tools make you a dynamic code on a free trial — and when the trial ends, the code you already printed quietly stops working. Hundreds of menus or business cards, dead.
QRYZEN's core promise is the opposite: static codes are free forever and never expire, and if a paid plan ever lapses, your dynamic codes show a polite branded page instead of a dead link — and spring back the moment you renew. We never break a printed code. That's not a feature; it's the whole reason QRYZEN exists.
Feature comparison
| QRYZEN | A typical generator | |
|---|---|---|
| Static codes | Free forever, unlimited, never expire | Often free, but limited or watermarked |
| "Free" dynamic codes | Honest 7-day trial, then a clear choice — codes never silently die | Frequently a trial that switches off your printed code when it ends |
| If a plan lapses | Branded "paused" page, reactivates on renewal | Often a dead link |
| Product range | 11 types — link, link page, vCard, Google review, form, pet tag, bundle, file, audio, video, menu | Usually a handful |
| Edit after printing | Yes (dynamic) | Usually yes |
| Scan analytics | Yes, with charts | Varies |
| Bulk creation + ZIP | Yes | Often paid-only or absent |
| Google Wallet passes | Yes (vCard & pet tags) | Rare |
| Pricing | From $7/mo, every feature on every plan | Often tiered so key features sit behind the top plan |
| The promise | "We never break a printed code" | Read the small print |
Where we're honest about our limits
No tool is best at everything, and pretending otherwise would betray the whole point. A few honest notes:
- If you only ever need a single permanent link, any good tool's free static code will do — including ours. You don't need to pay anyone for that.
- We're a younger product than some giants, so we have fewer integrations today. We're adding them based on what real users ask for, not a feature checklist.
- For pure app-download routing (different stores by device), that's on our roadmap, not live yet.
So who is QRYZEN for?
QRYZEN is for the café, the coach, the consultant, the small shop and the founder who wants tools that simply work and never let them down — with everything in one place and a price that doesn't punish you. If "the code I printed should never die" matters to you, that's exactly the line we hold.
The best way to judge is to try it. Make a code, scan it, change where it points, and watch the same code open somewhere new — free, no card.
